Musgrave has undertaken numerous projects that required structural alterations

Civil and structural engineering works can be wide and varied and necessary in many construction or building projects.  Its involvement can be necessary for developments, new builds, insurance works, renovations etc. A wide range of this type of work is undertaken by Musgrave and it varies from structural stabilising to retaining walls and structural alterations.

A structural alteration to any property, particularly your home, can be very daunting and this work should be undertaken by someone with the experience and knowledge to do it safely.  Yet once this work has been undertaken it can dramatically change the aesthetics and functionality of the building.   Buildings are constantly being altered by undertaking partial demolitions, structural alterations or adding extensions.  Whatever the tasks It is vital to understand how the building was originally built in order to design and build safe and sympathetic alterations and put in place supports that will effectively deal with the design and not overload the existing building.  The same considerations and more must be reflected on when actually undertaking these works.        

Installation of steel beams and supports

Musgrave has undertaken numerous projects that required structural alterations and temporary propping. In order to do structural alterations, it is vital that a structural engineer is involved.  Whatever stage you are at, from the idea stage to completed design we can help.  We can bring in of our own structural engineers or work alongside one of your own to make sure we safely and effectively create the space you want.  We have even created bespoke apex steel beams and supports using onsite fabrication.

Underpinning/Structural stabilisation

These can come in several forms and Musgrave can work to a completed design solution or work alongside you and your nominated engineer to create one.  The need for these works can be for several reasons including frost penetration, ground settlement, structural alterations or mortar failure. We have used several proprietary systems to carry out repairs to buildings often these are very discreet to with little visual on the external of the building to show they have been undertaken.

New Build Homes

Several new build homes and various stages of the new build process have been undertaken by Musgrave and its staff meeting NHBC and various other building warranty scheme standards.  These stages include various structural and civil engineering processes.

Retaining walls

Doing exactly as the name suggests these walls are put in place to retain elements such as soil, slopes, etc.  They are used in a vast number of situations with a wide variety of different designs, but Musgrave can work to a completed engineers design or work alongside engineers to help produce the specification and finished works.
